Ryan Zimmerman’s “A Night At The Park”–A ziMS Benefit Event

“We’ve gotten better and better each year. That’s the goal," stated Ryan Zimmerman. "We obviously started and really had no idea what we were getting into and just wanted to do stuff to help. Over the last five years it’s grown more than we could ever think we could imagine. And this (a Washington, D.C. venue) is a big stepping stone for us. We think from here, it could take off. The sky’s the limit from here.”

Q&A: Zimmerman talks Nats’ moves

From a personal standpoint, Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman had a season to remember in 2009, leading the team in RBIs with 106 and making his first All-Star appearance. A little more than a month after the season ended, Zimmerman, 25, won his first Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Awards. But reaching personal goals is not enough for Zimmerman in 2010. He wants the Nationals to have a winning percentage over .500 and reach the postseason for the first time in their history. Will Zimmerman get his wishes? Before playing golf in Florida on Sunday afternoon, Zimmerman expressed his opinion on the topics in an interview with MLB.com.

Zimmerman mostly unknown commodity – Nationals’ 3B has excelled on field but is far from household name in nation’s capital

Ryan Zimmerman walks into an Arlington, Va., restaurant on a cold December afternoon. Dressed in jeans, a checkered button-down shirt and brown loafers, the 6-foot-3 North Carolina native looks like one of the many young professionals who populate the Washington suburb. "Don't I know you from somewhere?" the host asks after greeting him, pondering Zimmerman's face for several seconds. "You look so familiar. College, maybe?" "No, I don't think so," Zimmerman says, shaking his head and shrugging his shoulders. "OK. I'll think of it," the host says as he leads the Nationals' All-Star third baseman to his table.

WASHINGTON -- Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman made history on Wednesday, becoming the first Nationals player to win a National League Gold Glove Award. Almost every game, it seemed like Zimmerman put on a show at the hot corner -- whether it was making a diving play or charging a ball to throw out a runner.

Nats’ Zimmerman tabbed as National League reserve for All-Star game

Ryan Zimmerman had no real plans for Major League Baseball's All-Star break next week. His hometown of Virginia Beach is just a short car ride away, after all. But while Zimmerman will still catch up with friends and family, that reunion will instead happen at the All-Star game itself in St. Louis The Nationals' third baseman was named to a reserve spot on the National League roster for the July 14th All-Star game. It will be the first appearance for the 24-year-old, who earlier this season signed a five-year, $45 million contract extension with the Nats.
